Randy McLaughlin, owner/operator of National Automotive, 2723 W. Sweetwater Ave, was awarded the Phoenix 2011 NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year. The Technician of the Year award is presented annually by NAPA AUTO PARTS and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) to an individual in the automotive repair and maintenance industry that meets a detailed list of prerequisites.
Randy opened National Automotive at the Westown Sweetwater location in 2001, but started the automotive repair business in 1997. He started in the business at the age of 20 before he enrolled at Arizona Automotive Institute. After working for and gaining hands on knowledge experience from other auto repair shops he decided to open his own company. Randy is an ASE-Certified Master Technician along with an Advanced Level Specialist (L1) certification. Randy and NAR’s motto is: "To provide honest, economical quality auto repair to the public while building strong customer and community relationships."
National Automotive Repair is ranked as an A+ business with the Better Business Bureau. The business is also an ASA, Automotive Service Association shop. To consumers, the ASA logo represents quality service and ethical business practices. NAR is also a recognized business of the exclusive ASE Blue Seal of Excellence shops. This designation requires that 75% of the mechanics in the shop have the credentials of being ASE certified; 100% of NAR’s mechanics are ASE certified. NAR is a Napa Auto Care Center and a member of the Business Development Group, along with a select number of Auto Care Centers.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Randy is heavily involved in his community. He is a Village Council member representing District 1, supports Saguaro Grade School, St. Mary’s Food Bank, and several other organizations both personally and through his business. |
