National Automotive Repair Blog

Here we'll give tips and advice about getting the best out of your vehicle. Plus we love to travel, so we'll share some places we've been and where we recommend (or don't!).

Downtown Flagstaff is a place we love to visit, especially during the hot summer months!

Downtown is the best place to people watch, grab a drink, a bite to eat and listen to outdoor musicians. The variety of places to enjoy are vast. My favorite boutique is Shoes and Such; for obvious reasons! There is a way cool thrift/costume store called "Incahoots Vintage Clothing Store" on East Aspen. Always a great variety of vintage clothing, jewelry and costumes for any occasions. We personally LOVE the historic hotels in the area as well. The Weatherford opened up for business in 1900 where you can stay, dine or just have a drink on the 2nd floor patio that overlooks the downtown area. The Hotel Monte Vista is another favorite, built in 1927. The cocktail lounge is a must stop with its red colored walls and smoky dark feel. Randy's favorite stop is the Flagstaff Brewing Company on Route 66. Every weekend there is a band playing outdoors where you can enjoy a beer and light fare. Half the patio is nonsmoking but, we always sit on the smoking side so he can enjoy a good cigar. Next door is their coffee shop where you can get a great cup of coffee and a shot of Baileys as they offer differing liquors for your drinking pleasure………..

There are many geographic gems in Flagstaff AZ. Our focus this month was the historic downtown area as that is the area we are more familiar with and frequent. Take a day and drive up, only two hours north of the valley. This tourist area in the cooler pines of Flagstaff is one place you will never be disappointed.
